In their second match down under, The British & Irish Lions cut loose to score eight tries in an emphatic 52-12 victory over the Queensland Reds

Northampton winger Tommy Freeman, who started on the right wing, scored one in each half, while Leinster’s Andrew Porter, Edinburgh’s Duhan van der Merwe, Maro Itoje, Ospreys captain Jac Morgan, Glasgow Warriors centre Huw Jones and Leinster’s Garry Ringrose also crossed.

The Queensland Reds proved stern opposition in an entertaining first half but were unable to live with the Lions power after the break, with Andy Farrell’s men increasing in confidence through the night.

With the Tour now in full swing, the Lions head to Sydney to face NSW Waratahs on Saturday, while the first Test against Australia is just a couple of weeks away.

Plenty of players produced impressive performances to put themselves into the shop window for a Test spot, including the likes of Jack Conan, Finn Russell and Elliot Daly, who was a late addition to the squad following an injury to Hugo Keenan.

Jac Morgan also produced an impressive Man of the Match display to stake his claim for a starting place in the Test team

There are some concerns, however, for Elliot Daly, who went off in discomfort in the second half with an arm injury.
